The economy of New Zealand may have hit a road block in recent times with the earthquake and the damage it caused. The country has been trying to get back on its feet and make ends meet. But where there is a will there is a way. The government plans to expand the online gambling scene and find better ways to reap the rewards of the gambling public. The new changes planned by the government include the introduction of new ways of betting online.
Online lottery scratch cards will soon be made available in the country. The Lotteries Commission has revealed in its Statement of Intent that it will expand online gambling and introduce more online casino games in the next two financial years. In an effort to get sales moving on lottery tickets the Instant Kiwi scratch cards will be made available online. Of course, the expansion of online gambling is always followed by the usual set of criticisms regarding problem gambling. Graham Atiken, spokesperson of the Problem Gambling Foundation recently told TV One that the introduction of online gambling causes players to lose all rationality and they wind up losing big money.
He did admit that online lotteries were less harmful than other forms of online gambling; however this did mark the beginning of eventual downfall.
